Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — 11 June 2026 — BOBST successfully concluded its Vietnam Packaging Industry Roadshow 2026, held on 10–11 June at Sofitel Saigon Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City. The two-day event brought together a broad spectrum of over 200 industry stakeholders, including brand owners, converters, printers, and production leaders, to explore the future of packaging through the lens of sustainability, digital transformation, and operational excellence.

Centered on the theme “Reinvent sustainability for all your packaging production,” the roadshow served as a platform for BOBST and the industry partners to showcase its latest innovations and reaffirm its commitment to supporting customers across the Southeast Asia Pacific region with tailored, forward-looking solutions. A key highlight of the event was the official launch in Vietnam of BOBST’s Folding Carton and Corrugated Board production lines, marking an important step in strengthening the company’s local market presence. In parallel, BOBST reinforced BOBST Connect in Vietnam market, the cloud-based digital platform designed to enable smarter, data-driven workflows and enhance visibility, efficiency, and performance for printers and converters.

Industry-focused sessions delivering insights into evolving market demands and technological advancements

The first day focused on labels and flexible packaging, where discussions explored the role of flexo and gravure technologies and how their complementary strengths providing premium print results can simplify production processes while improving efficiency. Also, BOBST deep dived sustainable packaging structures and applications through its oneECG and oneBARRIER solutions. The discussion focused on how oneECG improves printing efficiency and reduces waste, while oneBARRIER enables more recyclable, high-performance mono-material packaging. Together, these innovations help converters optimize both sustainability and production efficiency across various packaging segments.

The second day shifted focus to folding carton and corrugated board production, highlighting efficiency-driven innovation and end-to-end solutions covering packaging structures, applications, and cost optimization tailored to local market needs. During this session, BOBST Vietnam officially presented its folding carton die-cutter portfolio, recognized for its robust reliability, high precision, and consistent performance in demanding environments. BOBST experts also showcased advanced blanking technology, combining high automation with exceptional flexibility to simplify operations and improve efficiency. Features such as continuous non-stop pile delivery and a fully automatic sheet inserter ensure stable, perfectly stacked batches with minimal interruption, while the integrated quick-lock system enables fast tool changes. The ability to seamlessly switch to full sheet delivery for short or non-repetitive jobs further enhances versatility and sets BOBST apart from competitors.

The NOVAFFG and VISIONFFG are ideal for the brown box segment — typically one or two colors with simple die cuts. It delivers excellent slotting, creasing and folding accuracy, which is critical for brand owners using automatic case erecting systems that require perfectly square boxes. This isn’t a stripped-down version, it’s cost-effective and purpose-built for customers seeking reliable, high-volume production with optimal capital investment.

Throughout the roadshow, participants gained a deeper understanding of how BOBST Connect is reshaping packaging production. Demonstrations and expert presentations illustrated how digitalization and connected systems can empower manufacturers with real-time data insights, enabling smarter decision-making and improved productivity across the entire value chain. One of the highlighted topics is BOBST’s ZERO PATCHING technology, which revealed how it simplifies production by eliminating the need for patch applications, while reducing waste, downtime, and overall operational complexity. BOBST’s new Regional Services Director APAC, Alex Volery, also updated attendees on the range of services BOBST provides, highlighting BOBST TooLink for Die-Cutters on BOBST Connect. This solution enhances die-cutting performance with faster job changes, reduced set-up time, and optimal tool settings for every run—ensuring consistent quality, improved productivity, automated tool monitoring, simplified digital inventory, and seamless collaboration for continuous improvement.

“The event was a strong demonstration of how we are enabling converters in Vietnam to achieve new levels of performance through innovation, automation, and sustainability, showcasing BOBST Labels solution capabilities for pressure sensitive labels, shrink labeling, and short run flexible packaging, with solutions tailored to diverse production needs—from the cost‑efficient and reliable VISION M1 to the fully digitalized MASTER M5 and the highly automated, multi‑application MASTER M6. The strong engagement of the attendees reflects the growing ambition of the Vietnamese market and reinforces our commitment to partnering with customers to accelerate their transformation toward smarter, more connected, and highly efficient packaging production.” said Peter WOODS, BOBST SEAP Zone Business Director Label.

A defining feature of the event was the strong collaboration across the packaging ecosystem. Leading industry partners, including ESKO, CITO, SHARP Die-cutting Mould, UPM, Miraclon, Siegwerk, Dupont, Henkel, Reifenhäuser, DIC, Apex International, Valco Melton, and O.M.M. Graphic joined BOBST to highlight integrated innovations that drive performance and sustainability from design through to final production. This collaborative approach underscored the importance of partnerships in addressing the complex challenges facing the packaging industry today and fostered meaningful engagement and networking among participants, creating an environment for open dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the strengthening of industry relationships.

The success of the Vietnam Packaging Industry Roadshow 2026 reflects BOBST’s ongoing dedication to innovation and customer partnership in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic markets. By combining advanced technology, digital solutions, and a collaborative ecosystem approach, BOBST continues to play a pivotal role in connecting the industry and shaping a more sustainable and connected future for packaging production in Vietnam and across the region.

“In a market of shorter runs and tighter margins, investing in low-cost equipment may seem attractive but rarely delivers long-term value. At BOBST, we focus on efficiency and reliability to ensure sustainable ROI over time. While the market often prioritizes low-cost packaging, true sustainability requires forward-thinking solutions—such as recyclable mono-material structures—where we are fully prepared to support our customers.” as Diego Accatino, Zone Business Director FP SEAP concluded.

BOBST unveils VISIONFFG 1024 during VIP Demo Days

BOBST has reached a significant milestone with the formal launch of VISIONFFG 1024, an extension to its current flexo folder-gluer portfolio in the region.

The machine was unveiled during a VIP Demo Days event at the BOBST site in Korea, held November 25-27, 2025. The three-day event welcomed 120 VIP attendees from Korea, Southeast Asia, and China.

During the BOBST VIP Demo Days, two different box production jobs were run on the VISIONFFG 1024, highlighting the machine’s efficiency, folding and gluing quality, and high-speed performance.

VISIONFFG 1024 enhances the BOBST portfolio of high-performance folder-gluers with a new cost-effective mid-range option for the corrugated converting market.

Xavier Michelet, Zone Business Director – BOBST Southeast Asia Pacific BUPC, said: “Until recently, our FFG range included only high-end lines under the EXPERT and MASTER platforms. With the VISIONFFG platform, we offer a cost-effective solution for the mid-range market, with the outstanding folding quality, efficiency and performance that customers expect from a BOBST machine.”

With this latest addition to its folder-gluer family, BOBST’s offering now spans the MASTER, EXPERT, VISION, and NOVA lines, providing customers with access to a comprehensive portfolio of equipment and services for the corrugated industry, with an extended focus on customer needs for e-commerce and logistics.

For example, the recently launched NOVAFFG 1024 combines mechanical and servo-driven systems in an open-close format and has an optimized footprint and layout, which streamlines the production process for medium to large size boxes. VISIONFFG 1024, meanwhile, is a fixed-frame, fully servo-driven line and has been designed with high-productivity and automated corrugated box production in mind. It is also enhancing the line’s productivity, reliability, and consistency.

“We’re seeing growing demand for automated inline machines in APAC, especially from converters scaling up from 700–800 tons to over 1,000 tons per month,” added Mr Michelet.

“The VISIONFFG is ideal for the brown box segment, which typically involves one or two colors with simple die cuts.

Demonstrations of VISIONFFG 1024 during the BOBST VIP Demo Days event gave a clear indication of its performance across multiple applications.

The first job involved the machine handling a three-colour corrugated box made from AB-flute board, designed for high-volume shipping and industrial packaging. It was printed using water-based inks, in line with industry demand for more sustainable production. VISIONFFG 1024 produced the double wall boxes at a consistent speed of 14,000 boxes per hour, with each bundle comprising 15 boxes.

The second demonstration focused on e-commerce packaging, which is a fast-growing segment with specific performance requirements. The job ran on A-flute board, known for its durability and lighter weight. The VISIONFFG 1024 handled this run at an impressive 18,000 boxes per hour, with each bundle containing 25 boxes and secured by an inline strapping machine.

Mr Michelet said: “This is just the beginning. With over 20 years of experience building BOBST equipment in Asia, we are confident in our ability to serve both regional and international markets efficiently.

“The VISIONFFG will be sold under the global BOBST brand and deliver the exact same manufacturing quality and outstanding performance that the corrugated industry has come to know and expect from our equipment.

“Hallmarks of our corrugated machinery portfolio include premium printing, accurate die-cutting, high-quality creasing, exact glue placement, and precision folding. This is backed by more than 130 years of technical expertise, a global footprint, and world-renowned technical support and customer service, which ensures converters experience unmatched reliability, speed and performance from their BOBST equipment, year after year, decade after decade.”” (BOBST.COM)
